Through a partnership involving Mercury Insurance and the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS), policyholders in high-risk wildfire areas can apply for the Wildfire Prepared Home designation.

Zone Zero will require homeowners in wildfire-prone areas to clear some or all plants, mulch, dead leaves and other combustible materials within five feet of their house.
