How We Work Together

1

What does your property need?

Our Certified Wildfire Mitigation Specialist will visit your property and assess the structure and surrounding landscape.

2

Create a personalized action plan.

Once we have identified areas of concern and understand your priorities, we provide a detailed proposal and estimate of work.

3

Harden your home or commercial property.

For projects managed by CWG, our team will work directly with vendors to ensure all work is completed to the highest standards.

Whether your property is in a high fire hazard severity zone and needs to meet compliance standards, or you are taking additional precautions to protect your property, we can manage each step of the process.

FAQs

What does the assessment include, and what is the cost to have my property evaluated?

Our home hardening assessments provide a detailed summary of priorities specific to your property along with a recommended action plan. It also include general cost estimates for recommended improvements, a fire-resistant plant swap list (for up to 10 plants identified on your property), and information on any assistance programs you may qualify for.

The cost per assessment depends on the total square footage of your primary structure and surrounding lot, starting at $300 for homes less than 2,000 square feet. If you decide to work with us to complete the improvements on your property, the assessment fee is credited towards the project.

What are the benefits of having California Wildfire Group manage my project?

Beyond the assessment, we specialize in project management to help implement home-hardening improvements and pursue the Wildfire Prepared Home designation, if applicable. We will serve as your primary point of contact to complete the project alongside our team of trusted and local vendors. Our knowledge and management allows contractors to work faster and more efficiently. In fact, many provide our clients with discounts just for working with us.

Who has access to the completed assessment? Can I use it to get a discount on my insurance once the hardening projects are completed?

Completed assessments are for the property owner’s use only and are not shared with outside parties unless requested. Some homeowners choose to share post-hardening evaluations with their insurance companies to pursue potential discounts, and we’re happy to provide certified proof of compliance for insurance and real estate purposes.

In addition, the Wildfire Prepared Home designation by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS) is quickly becoming the standard to qualify for insurance or receive insurance discounts, depending on your provider. It allows homeowners to verify their property through an online application process. As partners of IBHS, we help our clients throughout the entire application process in order to achieve designation status.

Are there any assistance programs available?

Yes, there are existing assistance programs at the local and state level. We review your eligibility as part of the overall property assessment in order to provide a list of relevant grants, incentives, or programs. We are also able to pass along several discounts from our local partners for projects managed by our team.
